You may have missed the last one, since it came out only in 2021, after his untimely death in Sept 2020. It's called The Dawn: A New History of Humanity.
Speaking of takers and taking "culture" too it seems to me that such a syndrome fits squarely within the parameters of the Wetiko disease or psychosis. This psychosis was first comprehensively described in the book by Jack Forbes titled Columbus and Other Cannibals.
