This is why I have, now, and always will support our Second Amendment here in the States. I’ve no interest in waiting on any government entity to defend my immediate home and family from an existential threat. No one is free who cannot defend their loved ones and the fruits of their honest labor without the blessing of a handwringing bureaucrat. Having been a police officer myself, I also know the response to violence is not usually going to be on time. Even if the response is fast-a mere 30 seconds is an eternity in a fight with someone who wants to kill you. Get a gun, Donna. Owning one won’t automatically make you Annie Oakley (just like owning a paintbrush doesn’t make one Monet), but it’s better than trying to go hand-to-hand and hoping for the best with a bunch of paragliding Einsatzgruppen. Y’all keep your head on a swivel, stay smart, and stay safe. If you can’t stay safe, stay defiant in the face of this evil.
